Clean Air
The Action Programme Committee on Clean Air is led by the Planning and Development Department (PDD) of the National Environment Agency (NEA), and was formed with the objective of formulating action programmes to achieve the SGP 2012 targets for Clean Air; including community partnership and innovation relevant to clean air.
The Committee has formulated 29 action programmes under three main thrusts with emphasis on areas like energy efficiency, cleaner energy and pollution from mobile and stationary sources.

Promote energy efficiency in domestic and commercial premises |
- Promote public awareness of energy efficiency through Energy Label Scheme and educational materials.
- Involve owners of commercial buildings in energy efficiency drives through energy audit schemes and an Energy Star Programme and give them recognition.

Reduce emissions from industry |
- Raise energy efficiency in the industrial sector through the use of good energy management practices, energy audit schemes and innovative solutions.
- Achieve cleaner emissions from industry through the use of best available technologies and renewable energy (e.g. solar energy).
- Work towards co-regulation with industry partners.

Reduce emission from transport sources |
- Review vehicular regulatory standards (e.g. emission and fuel quality standards) periodically.
- Promote and incentivise, where appropriate, the switch from conventional to green vehicles.
- Encourage more commuters to use public transport.
