International Environmental Relations
The Action Programme Committee on International Environmental Relations, led by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR), was formed with the objective of formulating action programmes to achieve the SGP2012 targets for International Environmental Relations; including community partnership and innovation relevant to international environmental relations.
The Committee has formulated 26 action programmes under 5 main thrusts with emphasis on environmental related training programmes and technology transfer, and forging good international, regional and bilateral relations on environmental matters.

Capacity building through environmental training
|
- Have centralised coordination of environment-related training on best practices in environmental management in Singapore.

Capacity building through technology transfer |
- Stage international environmental events, such as seminars, that could help to facilitate technology transfer.
- Encourage test-bedding of environmental technologies.

Enhance bilateral cooperation |
- Enhance and explore environmental agreements with interested partner countries.

Enhance regional cooperation |
- Be involved in and remain committed to regional agreements (e.g. ASEAN Haze Agreement).

Enhance international cooperation |
- Promote studies on Environmentally Sustainable Cities.
- Remain committed to international multilateral environmental agreements that Singapore is a party to.
